Jade widower Jack Tweed released from jail
By Ruth Doherty on Friday 29 May 2009
The widower of Jade Goody, Jack Tweed, has been released from prison.
The 21-year-old was given a 12-week sentence after being convicted of assaulting a taxi driver.
After serving six weeks of the sentence, he was today released from jail, and was met at Edmunds Hill Prison near Newmarket, Suffolk, by his mother, Mary, and friend Mark Wright.
Prosecutors said Jack threatened to stab driver Stephen Wilkins in Epping, after being asked to pay the fare upfront threw him into a rage.
Jack denied any wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty.
Jade Goody married Jack shortly before her untimely death from cancer on Mother’s Day this year.
