Peter Andre took to the stage yesterday in his first public appearance since his split from Katie – on the same day as her ex-boyfriend Dane Bowers announced he has split from his wife.

Dane and his PR wife Chrissy Johnston apparently split two days before Peter announced he was divorcing Katie.

Dane was arrested for drink-driving this week after his car crashed into a hedge outside Katie’s £2.5 million Surrey home.

The former Another Level singer named Katie as his 4am alibi – saying the car had been stolen, and that it couldn’t have been him driving because he was at Katie’s house at the time.

Chrissy, who was married to Dane for just 18 months, told the Mirror: ‘He is no longer in the marital home. I don’t have anything to say about Kate and Dane, except each to their own.’

But, according to Katie’s spokesman, the incident was ‘the first time Katie and Dane have spoken in years'.

Meanwhile, Pete looked slim, trim, toned and tanned as he made his first public appearance since his split at the O2 arena yesterday.

He took to the stage to present Here Come the Boys – a new strip show, choreographed by Jennifer Lopez’s ex-husband, Chris Judd.

The Mysterious Girl singer was greeted by a hoarde of adoring female fans – and seemed to be loving his time back in the limelight.

He told the audience: 'I'm very happy to be here.

‘In fact, when they asked me to be here, I was quite honoured. I know how much effort these guys have put into this show...

‘You've got great-looking guys out the back and you've got great-looking girls in the front.’

It also emerged yesterday that Peter has bought a new £1.8 million home in Hove, West Sussex.
