Chris Brown has posted a video on YouTube telling his fans that he ‘is not a monster’.

The R&B singer recorded the message ahead of a court hearing scheduled for today in the Los Angeles Superior Court over a criminal charge Brown faces for allegedly beating up ex-girlfriend Rihanna, leaving the singer battered and bruised.

Brown has remained relatively tight-lipped about the whole debacle, previously referring to the violent incident saying he was ‘sorry and saddened over what transpired’ and that he had sought counselling.

The latest reference to the attack sees the 22-year-old tell fans: ‘Everybody that's haters, they just been haters. All my real fans, I love you all. I ain't a monster.’

Of course, the recording couldn’t be posted without a little self-promotion. Brown reminded fans that his new album Graffiti is out later this year and a single is on the cards this summer.

Brown is charged with assaulting Rihanna by ‘means of force likely to produce great bodily injury’ and threatening to commit a crime ‘which would result in death and great bodily injury.’

The R&B star faces up to four years in jail if found guilty.

Ok Chris...Your not a monster, just a lovley guy who battered his girlfriend left her with horrific bites bruises & cuts!! Get real you should have no carrer left..if that was my Daughter you had done that to you would have no ***** left!
