Lily Allen to star in Neighbours

Everybody needs good Neighbours - even Lily Allen, it would seem.

The Fear singer has accepted an invitation from studio bosses to guest-star on the Brit-favourite Australian soap.

Down Under's Channel 10 confirmed the singer will be heading to Ramsay Street during the Australian leg of her It's Not Me, It's You tour in June.

Lily - who will star as herself - will be following in the footsteps of other Brit stars like David Walliams and Matt Lucas by appearing in the long-running show.

Neighbours has been aired in the UK since October 1986 and, at its peak in the late 80s, it pulled in 18 million Brit viewers – more than the population of Australia at the time.

Lily
is said to be a big fan of the show, which launched the careers of stars like Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Natalie Imbruglia and Guy Pearce.

Other British stars who've made cameo appearances include Neil Morrissey, Michael Parkinson and the Pet Shop Boys.

Lily will perform at Melbourne's Forum Theatre on 12 and 13 June.
