Kate Hudson dating Madonna's ex

Is Kate Hudson filling the Madonnna-shaped hole in Alex Rodriguez's love life?

The actress was spotted on what looked suspiciously like a date with the Yankees star, known as A-Rod, on Friday night.

After taking in a Yankees game, Kate and the star player made their way to Mustang Grill restaurant in New York City, where the staff made sure they had plenty of privacy – but then spilt the beans to the press days later.

'We sat them in a private area of the restaurant, a private room off the main dining room,' owner, Rob Olsen, told Page Six. 'They were there for about an hour. They left around 1am. They had dinner and drinks. They appeared to enjoy themselves.'

It's not the first time the pair have hooked up; back in November they were caught 'flirting, laughing and doing high-fives to each other' at the opening of the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami.

At the time, however, A-Rod was still embroiled in an are-they-aren't-they romance with Madonna, while Hudson was still to reignite her romance with Owen Wilson.

Now though, with both those liaisons having hit the dust, maybe Kate and Alex could be the perfect pair?
