Katie and Peter look set to play out their divorce in the same way they've played out their marriage – very much in the public eye.

Despite asking for 'privacy at this difficult time' yesterday, just hours after announcing their split they were already conducting interviews with national papers blaming each other for their relationship breakdown.

'I'm not jealous of anybody until Katie's drunk,' Peter Andre told The Sun. 'There's nobody I feel threatened by when she's sober.

'But if she's been drinking I know she's capable of anything. The devil gets inside her and she's a nightmare.'

Price, meanwhile, has rather dramatically 'fled the country' for an 'undisclosed location', but managed to find time to release a statement before she went.

'Pete is the love of my life and my life,' she wrote. 'We have children together and I am devastated and disappointed by his decision to separate and divorce me, as I married him for life. I will always love my Pete.'

News that the couple were separating didn't come as a huge surprise to anyone who'd been watching their fly-on-the-wall ITV2 show, Katie and Peter: Stateside, which has detailed row after row recently, including Jordan calling her husband 'an old f**king singer no one knows about' and Pete retaliating by labelling his wife a 'stupid arrogant cow'.

Apparently, however, the 'singer no one knows about' isn't at all happy about leaving his glamour model wife.

'He's very upset. This has all come as a complete shock,' a friend told the Mail. 'I did not want to ask him the reason for the split but I can tell you he is very upset.'

the mistake they made was living there life in the media, it takes a lot of time to get to know your partner through going out with each other and then getting married. They need to find somewhere to meet away from the media and talk things through and then agree the ground rules to make their marriage work.

They should put their feet back on the ground. Marriage is for life and people enter and leave it too easily. I would like to see them setting a better example for the teens they influence during their public life. I really like Katie Price after watching her on I'm a celebrity, which surprised me as I have always presumed she is a bimbo, when in fact she is an intelligent business woman. Peter Andre obviously adores his family and he is a very tolerant man.
I think perhaps it takes a situation like this to stand back and reflect on what is important in life. This must be more difficult for them as they have so many material things that cloud reality.
I remember seeing him on TV recently saying that "as long as his family are with him, he can go anywhere in the world and be content". Come on you two SORT IT OUT and STRENGTHEN YOUR MARRIAGE! Everyone is rooting for you...

Personally I am sorry to see them split up and I really believe that she did marry him for life. They need to step away from the media and set some proper groundrules on how they are going to make their marriage work out of the media spotlight. Katie is a very rich woman and I really don't think she needs to keep on working to secure their financial future.

i am so disappointed to see these two split up. i thought that katie had finally found the perfect man. he has been so brilliant with harvey and has supported katie in her career expansions. they have 2 beautiful children of their own. it would be such a shame to split this family up. maybe they need time to come to their senses. step away from the limelight and concentrate on what really matters. please dont make any decisions you're going to regret.

I hope they get back together because I truly think they love each other very much. They have everything you could wish for life but unfortunately Katie earns more than Peter and wants to keep on about it. But we all know she does - if you are in it for life accept you earn more money but you will never get anyone that loves you more. Good luck.

I THINK PETER IS A FAB GUY WHO FELL IN LOVE WITH KATIE PRICE. IT IS JORDAN HE CANT LIVE WITH AS SHE HAS HIM AT THE BOTTOM OF HER PRIORITIES. IT APPEARS HE COMES SECOND BEST TO ALL THE OTHER THINKGS IN HER LIFE. HE NEEDS TO BE APPRECIATED THE WAY HE DESERVES AND SHE JUST DOESNT REALIZE IT UNTIL ITS TOO LATE AND HE IS GONE.
HE IS A FUNNY,CARING, SEXY GUY AND MAYBE IS TOO GOOD FOR HER.

Pete has a massive ego and can't accept critisim of his career. That was his downfall unfortunately.
