Matthew Broderick on surrogacy

Sarah Jessica Parker's son, James Wilkie, is so excited about the imminent arrival of his twin sisters, he's already getting his famous parents to buy toys for them.

In a televised interview with chat show host David Letterman, SJP's husband, Matthew Broderick, revealed the whole family can't wait to welcome the new additions to the brood, especially their six-year-old son. 'He's pretty excited,' said Matthew. 'He said, 'We have to get lots of princess toys."'

As for his parents, however, it's more about wondering how they'll cope with two new arrivals at once.  

'Oh man, I'm so nervous just even thinking about it,' joked Broderick.

'I've asked people, "What's it like to have twins?" One father said, "I don't recommend it", but the rest have been very positive.'

The interview was Matthew's first since news of his and SJP's decision to have children with a surrogate broke.
