The British Soap Awards 2009
By Ruth Doherty on Monday 11 May 2009
Britain's top telly talent pulled on their gladrags for the British Soap Awards 2009 last night.
A whole host of soap stars from the likes of EastEnders, Hollyoaks, Coronation Street and Emmerdale lit up the red carpet with a series of colourful gowns – some successful, and others definitely not so!

Those who managed to pull it off included Patsy Palmer in a draped, one-shouldered navy number, which complemented her auburn locks, and Hollyoaks vixen Roxanne McKee, who looked like a 60s sex siren with bouffant, backcombed tresses and a smouldering silver mini.
In the not-so-successful section? A cluster of Hollyoaks alumni, including Hollie-Jay Bowes' French maid gone wrong, Zoe Lister's cut-out, yellow 80s nightmare, and Jorgie Porter's prom-night-cum-bridesmaid's dress disaster.
Awards-wise, the evening was a great success for EastEnders, who scooped the top prize, Best Soap, among seven other wins.
Barbara Windsor, who's played Peggy Mitchell since 1994, also bagged a lifetime achievement honour.
Other winners of the night included Coronation Street, who snapped up six awards, and daytime soap Doctors, which picked up three gongs.

I'm glad that Eastenders won the best soap as that has always been my best soap.

Have to say loved Patsy Palmers dress. As a fellow Auburnista, it's great to hear all those lovely comments. Any idea where she got her fab dress???
