Rihanna and Kylie team up in NY

It was a pop princess fest at last night's DKMS 2009 Annual Gala in New York, with songstresses Rihanna and Kylie stealing the show.

Making an eye-catching pair, the petite Aussie and statuesque Umbrella singer made firm friends on the red carpet, happily posing arm-in-arm for the waiting paps.

Channelling futurism, which has proved a firm style hit this season amongst the A-list, Rihanna stepped out in a sculptural metallic top, with the trend's ubiquitous bold shoulders, teamed with a chunky necklace, fuchsia  bubble skirt and little black booties.

For Kylie, the event called for a far more classic look, and the songstress looked her eternally-youthful self in a chocolate brown draped floor length gown, with keyhole detailing.
