Sarah Jessica Parker's wow-factor frock
By Ruth Doherty on Friday 1 May 2009
The news has just landed that Sarah Jessica Parker is expecting twins through a surrogate – but don't for a minute think our favourite style icon will still be anything but fashion-fabulous!
The Sex and the City star looked breathtaking – not to mention totally edgy and directional – in her stunning wet-look dress, enhanced with beautiful bustline beading.
And, as ever, SJP would have made her alter-ego Carrie Bradshaw proud with those stunning, gold-accented, fierce strappy heels.

The star was enjoying some family time with hubby Matthew Broderick and 6-year-old son James Wilkie at the Patricia Broderick Painting and Works On Paper Exhibition at the Tibor de Nagy Gallery in NY.
Despite her excitement at the impending birth of her twin daughters – she was spotted stocking up on all sort of goodies at children's toy store Just Kidding yesterday - SJP has expressed concern at having enough time for all her family as a working mum.
She told the New York Daily News: 'It's been a complicated past few weeks.
'My main concern is that my husband and son have enough time. I've felt very conflicted over the last few weeks.
'Hopefully, our son is feeling loved and taken care of. I can't really complain because it's my choice to work, but that doesn't mean I don't spend a better part of the day worrying about whether my family is getting enough [time] from me.'
She added: 'Any complications or any anxiety I feel is normal. Any mother who wants to continue to work and have a career outside the home goes through this, so I feel very much a part of the sisterhood.'

It is thought the couple turned to a surrogate after having trouble conceiving.
Star magazine claims the babies were conceived in vitro using eggs SJP had frozen some time ago and Broderick's sperm.
The publication also says the woman, a 26-year-old divorced mother-of-one, is reportedly receiving $30,000 (£20,300) to carry the twin girls for the A-list couple.
According to the magazine, the couple will also cover her medical costs of around $20,000 (£13,500) and pay $100,000 (£67,700) to surrogate agency Growing Generations, based in Los Angeles.
The woman is reportedly due to give birth on 18 July.

This woman is feted like she is something special but a) she's too posh to bear her own kids and b) she's not even that good looking!

Jayprime - there is a name for people like you HATERS!!!!!
Does anyone know where her shoes are from?

If this woman loves her son so much, why does she dress him like a girl???? His hair is too long for a 6 year old, he's going to get twin sisters soon, so why the long hair?? Also, I do not condone what these modern women do for getting children, if you work - so do millions of other women but we never resorted (we had no money anyway!!!) to having surrogates to beget our children!!!! I wonder how the girls will feel when they learn of their conception..... I do not even like SJP and have never watched her films or SATC - it's too smutty for me!!!!

Miaow!!

I have read that SJP and Matthew Broderick have been trying to have another child for a few years but have obviously had no luck - that is why they are using a surrogate. I'm sure it was disappointing and heartbreaking for SJP to not be able to have another child, as it would be for any woman unable to conceive. Why can't people just wish them well?
Comment by Jo on May 01 16:55
Cate - You might try reading the article before you comment; SJP could not conceive and that is why she is using a surrogate. Plus, it is refreshing that not all celebrities are picture perfect... are you?
Comment by Anna on May 01 17:25
That's right Jo how upsetting to find out that you can't have a child - I thought it was the end of the world when my GP told me I wasn't conceiving. Good luck to them all.

Totally agree with Jo's comment above. If she was too posh to bear her own kids why does she have a son that she gave birth to? It can't have been an easy choice so I can't judge. I do wish them well, I hope the rumours of him cheating are not true!

Girls, put your claws away! you can judge all you like on surrogacy- we all have opinions, but why the bitchiness?! This article is about SJP saying that her priority has time for her family...lets not twist it. Have your opinion, but please stop ripping down celebrities, they're human, and they have opinions too- we need to start being less insulting!
Comment by amber on May 02 11:23
This is one time I have to say I do not like the outfit or shoes! Having said that people who have not struggled with fertility have no room to pass judgement or make nasty remarks.
Comment by tracey on May 02 18:33
Well said Jo! why are people so quick to get the claws out? Gone are the days when we wish people well...now its just bitchy bitterness all round...shame on you. Did you not read that she had had problems conceiving? Good for her that she is in a position to do something about it..

She looks stunning- love the shoes, love the dark long hair. She's got fabulous style, that's for sure.
And people should be congratulating her, not berating her- what exactly is the problem with the surrogate? It has been said they have tried unsuccessfully for years, why would anyone criticse them for their decision? The comments on this page are pretty spiteful- the surrogate is getting VERY well paid for it and it seems like a good agreement all round. People need to get a life.
Comment by Emma on May 04 14:28
As someone who has had troubles in conceiving I think the nasty comments on here are coming from people that clearly have their own issues and have never faced hardships of their own. What business of yours is it why she decided to use a surrogate, who cares, get a life and live and let live! As far as her style, yes its out there, but shouldn't we all be ourselves and enjoy individuality... if you dont' perhaps you live in the wrong country!!!!
