Sarah Ferguson to swap royalty for working class

The Duchess of York is set to swap her fancy lifestyle for a working class existence in Manchester – to try and put some 'community spirit' back into the recession-hit city.

Fergie is hanging up her Louboutin heels for a new ITV show called The Sarah Ferguson Project.

She will be 'slumming it' in a back-to-basics bed and breakfast while she tries to involve a family in the community by setting up groups and projects.

A source told The Sun: 'Fergie reckons one of the big problems facing Britain is that we have lost that community spirit.

'People live on top of each other more now than ever. But we don’t seem to know our neighbours or have anything to do with them.

'The plan is for Fergie to tackle the problems head on. She believes mums are at the heart of the community and it’s from them that change will come.

'She will try to encourage women’s groups and sports days - but it will be a very touchy-feely approach. She won’t be using Sir Alex’s [Man United boss] famous hairdryer treatment - and screaming at anyone.'

This is not the first social TV project Sarah has immersed herself in.

Last year, she and her daughters Princesses Eugenie, 19, and Beatrice, 20, were reduced to tears when they visited orphanages in Turkey and Romania.

Sarah Ferguson has always been my favourite royal, and her daughters . They are not frightened of being themselves and mixing with the public, Sarah can relate to every day mothers and their trials and tribulations of bringing up children, if only more of the royal family woulb be more like her.
