SEE: Mel Gibson's first outing with new girlfriend

Mel Gibson showed off his new girlfriend, singer Oksana Grigorieva, last night at a special screening of Hugh Jackman's new film, X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

It's just two weeks since his wife filed for divorce, but Mel couldn't have looked happier with the 39-year-old Russian - who is signed to Mel's own music label, Icon Records - by his side.

'Mel has been single for almost three years and it's nice to see him getting out and enjoying himself,' his press representative told People.com.

Jackman himself was also at the screening, where he told the industry crowd, that he'd modelled Wolverine on Gibson's character in Mad Max.

However, despite the film's big star being in attendance, most eyes were on Mel and his date.

'They came in quietly and as under the radar as they could and they were pretty low-key,' one eagle-eyed snitch revealed. 'Mel seemed very comfortable.'

I used to be a great admirer of Mel Gibson, but I'm afraid that after the garbage he's produced over the past couple of years, I wouldn't take money to go and watch his stuff

I too like Mel Gibson. Not really sure Shutterbug which films he's produced recently or come to think of it actually acted in!
