Lost star accused of sexual harassment
By Ruth Doherty on Monday 27 April 2009
Lost star Henry Ian Cusick is being sued by a former ABC Entertainment employee who claims he sexually harassed her.
Scottish-Peruvian Cusick plays Desmond Hume on the hit series, which also stars Evangeline Lily and Matthew Fox.
The lawsuit was filed on Friday in Los Angeles and claims the alleged behaviour occurred in October 2007.
The woman says she reported it to her supervisor, but was simply told to avoid the actor.
She states she was fired 12 days later in retaliation for reporting the alleged incident.
She is seeking unspecified damages and also names ABC Entertainment and Grass Skirt Productions as defendants.
The lawsuit claims the woman had worked for ABC since 1997.
Cusick's manager and ABC have yet to comment on the alleged incident.
Cusick began his career as a classical theatre actor, and also had recurring roles in Casualty and The Book Group before becoming a regular cast member of Lost in its third series.
