Madonna's £27million new home

Madonna is splashing out on a swanky New York City townhouse, worth a rumoured £27million.

As the Queen of Pop continues her fight to bring Mercy James to America, she's already feathering her nest and has snapped up a four-storey, 'London-style' house on Manhattan's Upper East Side.

According to The Sun, Madonna's new pad comes complete with 13 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, a garden, garage and wine cellar.

'She is trying to recreate London in New York City,' a friend told the paper. 'It's perfect for her.'

But the canny singer didn't pay over the odds; in fact, she reportedly managed to shave a tidy £3.5million off the asking price.
