Lindsay Lohan has treated herself to a post-split tattoo – a quote by Marilyn Monroe.

According to a source who has seen the new body art, 22-year-old Lohan got a Marilyn Monroe quote tattooed on her inner wrist during her visit to the Shamrock Social Club in West Hollywood last week.

The quote says: 'Everyone's a star and deserves the right to twinkle.'

The wording is also surrounded by yellow, blue and green stars.

Friends have expressed concern over the actress's emotional well-being since her split from Samantha Ronson, with some reports suggesting that Sam has begged her to go back to rehab.

But another source close to Lohan says she is actually stronger than she's being made out to be.

'She's being painted as this victim, but she's not,' the source told People. 'She's a strong girl.'
