Rihanna to launch own perfume

Rhianna will release her own perfume next year, along with rap star Kanye West, say industry sources.

The Umbrella singer has signed a deal to launch her signature scent in summer 2010.

Parlux Fragrances Inc confirmed a deal with Jay-Z’s licensing company – Iconic Fragrances – to create perfumes for Rihanna and Kanye West.

The perfume house is also negotiating a fragrance deal with Jay-Z himself and another, as yet unnamed, female singer.

Rihanna will join a host of female singers who have their own perfumes.

Jennifer Lopez, Queen Latifah, Kylie, Britney Spears and, er, Jessica Simpson have all launched signature scents in the past few years.

Beyoncé – Jay-Z’s wife – has fronted a campaign for Emporio Armani's Diamonds scents, but has not yet released her own perfume.

Could that be about to change with this new fragrance deal?

'Parlux is also in the process of negotiating fragrance deals with Jay-Z and another female singer, which will be unveiled in the next month,' said chief executive Neil J Katz.
