Rihanna is quite literally attempting to move on from the furore surrounding the alleged assault on her by Chris Brown – by house hunting in the Hollywood Hills.

The pop star looked radiant as she was snapped looking for a plush new pad in a cream suit jacket and knee-length shorts.

While Rihanna has taken some time out since the alleged incident on the evening of the Grammys, Brown has been busy working on his new album.

But pal Tyrese Gibson admits the controversy is 'taking its toll' on the singer, who’s been charged with assault and making criminal threats.

And Tyrese says the looming charges have left Brown struggling to focus on his career.

He told People: 'Although he appears to be really strong through all of this, it’s really taking a toll on his spirit.

'People like me and Puff (P Diddy), we’re just trying to show him love and keep his spirits up while he’s going through all of the heat, and there are a lot people doing the same for Rihanna.'

Tyrese added: 'It’s really hard for him to focus right now on his music, even though he really wants to.

'At the end of the day, I’m not trying to justify it because wrong is wrong, but unfortunately, us as entertainers, we have to grow up on stage with a lot of people looking at us.

'And a lot of people forget that he’s 19, she’s only 21.'

Nobody is forgetting his age - but age has got nothing to do with it. He is out of control, and who can say if this is his first violent act against Rihanna - this might be the only one that has been reported in the newspapers. Violent people very rarely change - so my advise to Rihanna is to get on with here life without him.
