How to get into ...

Lindsay Lohan is 'living off Sam'

Marie Claire News: Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson

Lindsay Lohan is living off credit cards and her girlfriend Samantha Ronson, sparking furious rows between the couple, say friends.

The Mean Girls star has not found much acting work recently, but her spending habits have not dropped in line with her reduced income.

'Lindsay is spending like crazy!' a close friend told the New York Daily News.

'She’s living on credit right now. She has no cash. The problem is, the money being spent is mostly Sam’s because Lindsay doesn’t really have any of her own at the moment.'

The friend added that Sam feels she is being pushed into the traditional 'male' role of breadwinner in the relationship, but says Lindsay is doing nothing to help.

'She's really taken on the 'man' role in their romance. Sam thinks Lindsay needs to learn how to become a recessionista and manage her money better,' reveals the source.

The couple's money worries have put a strain on their already fiery relationship, which is actually preventing Lindsay earning more cash.

'Because of her explosive relationship with Sam, she’s unable to get the type of cash she's used to. The negative press and constant appearance cancellations are hurting her pocketbook,' another friend told the paper.

But the starlet may not be relying on handouts for too long.

In a recent interview with Nylon magazine, she said she would love to work for IMG Models. Now the agency say they are happy to discuss the possibility of putting Lindsay on their books.

'She’s a beautiful girl and obviously knows a lot about fashion. Providing that she was contractually free, we would take a meeting,' a senior executive at IMG told the New York Post.

Lindsay has also revealed that she wants to work with actors Sean Penn and Seth Rogen and has just launched her own self-tanning spray Sevin Nyne.
