Anyone for George Clooney-flavoured tofu?

George Clooney-flavoured tofu, anyone? We thought the story sounded like a total wind-up, but, no, it's not April Fool's Day yet and apparently PeTA really has written to Clooney asking if they can use his sweat to flavour a new brand of tofu.

According to the Press Association (important sounding people, the story must be true), PeTA was offered a perspiration-soaked towel George had used post-workout in Washington DC and immediately started thinking of ingenious things they could use it for.

The result? Clooney-flavoured tofu!

'Your fans would swoon at the idea of eating CloFu, but what interests us most is we would attract many people who don't try tofu because they worry that it would be bland or that they wouldn't know how to cook it,' PeTA president Ingrid Newkirk wrote to the actor.

'CloFu will help people be healthier and more environmentally friendly and will spare animals from being killed for the table.'

Erm, ok, over to George.

'As a mammal, I am offended,' he wrote back.
