Prince William treats Kate Middleton to 40k holiday

In light of the credit crunch, many people will be looking forward to a holiday on the English coast this year – but not lucky Kate Middleton, who’s being whisked off on a £40,000 skiing holiday by beau Prince William.

Kate’s big-hearted (and big-walleted) boyfriend has booked a lodge at the exclusive Swiss ski resort, Klosters, where the Royals usually spend Easter every year – but, this time, Daddy Charles isn’t coming!

And the Prince has even shunned the five-star Walserhof Hotel – where the family usually stays – in favour of a lavish lodge, instead.

He is planning to travel with the exclusive tour operator Descent, which offers ‘the best ski experience that money can buy’, including Michelin-star, home-cooked dinners and a limitless supply of Perrier-Jouet Champagne.

Descent offers two villas to its VIP clientele: the majestic Chesa Falcun with sauna, steam shower and massage room, and Chalet Eugenia, a baronial retreat with roaring fires, vast oak-beamed ceilings, antique furniture and views across a snow-soaked field.

Both villas have been booked for the week of 5 April until Easter Sunday, and each offers spa baths, large balconies, a chalet manager, a housekeeper, two chauffeurs, two full-time butlers, and trained chefs on call 24 hours a day.

A source told the Daily Mail: ‘William has booked a chalet which is out of this world. It’s not the place they usually stay, but William has decided he wants to do something different.

‘His father has said he is not going skiing this year, so William has decided to do his own thing with a few of his closest friends.

'The friends will all be paying their share – although William will be treating Kate.
'He’s really looking forward to it.’

What a generous gent – wonder if he’s got the rock sorted?

Sometimes an article is written which provides an excellent reason to remove all monarchy from this country, or at least ask them to face the issues millions of others are facing. What is he contributing to this country?

Fabulous !! Hope they have a wonderful time skiing with their friends . All the nay sayers and doom and gloom merchants will undoubtedly have endless negative comments to post. Bear in mind that his share of the costs will be divided by however many guests he invites - it will be nothing like the sum in the sad old press story. Since the begining of time life has not been equal - it never will be - let it go !

What a generous gent - with the taxpayers' money!

Isn't this a bit disgusting given what the rest of the country is going through at the moment?

I'm surprised the royals' PR machine hasn't advised them that it might be political to scale back on the £40K holidays this year...

He can afford to be generous with our money - and don't tell me it's not - how did his family get the estate they charge rent for in the first place? Stolen property? Don't be fooled by this lot, out drinking and partying whilst we wonder if we can afford Aldi prices! Have they no hearts?
Comment by Susan on March 17 13:03

Aww isn't he romantic? Don't you wish that you could be romanced at the tax payers expense.... cos that's who is paying for this holiday!

If Kate knew the value of money - like working for it - she may appreciate the hols. more

Good grief! My wife and I are struggling to find £1200 for two weeks in Greece. Roll on winning the lottery

Every time I hear about Kate Middleton, she is either going on vacation, coming out of a club at wee hours of the day, shopping, or partying. The latest check of her CV shows that she had a part time job at Jigsaw for 10 months. Since then she's been working at her parents' company.

Is it just me or is Kate Middleton really pathetic? No job, no ambition, no life outside William. I don't think William really is in love with Kate. Because in order for him to love her, he first must respect her. And from their body language at his RAF party, he doesn't respect or love her. How can anyone really respect this lazy young woman.

It takes more to be a princess than being good looking and looking good in an evening gown.
