Wayne Rooney's stingy wedding guests fail to help struggling hospice

Wayne and Coleen Rooney are hardly short of a bob or two, so at their £5million wedding they asked guests to donate money to a struggling hospice instead of buying them gifts, but sadly it has emerged that the charity has since only received a meagre £2,000.

The charity was hoping to raise £2 million from the wedding, considering that many of Rooney's friends earn tens of thousands of pounds a week.

Instead, just four of the 64 guests made a donation of £500 each, according to the chairman of The Claire House Hospice, Dennis Mahony.

A spokesman for Claire House confirmed: 'Wayne and Coleen are long-standing and generous supporters. We understand they did invite guests at their wedding to donate to their favourite charities but to date, not a great deal has been forthcoming, although we received donations from a handful of up to £500 each.

'We are grateful to put to bed rumours we received £2million.'

The hospice in the Wirral, where Coleen's sister Rosie (Rosie suffers from Rett syndrome, a neuro-developmental disorder, which prevents her from walking and talking) regularly receives respite care, is now urgently appealing for donations to help it stay in business and the staff have offered to take a pay cut to help it stay afloat.

Mr Mahony told the Daily Mail: 'We've been looking at ways to reduce our costs and one of biggest single costs is providing the care.

'We don't want to affect that in any way - we've got too many children and parents depending on us. Our staff have very generously offered to reduce their time where it can be reduced and we are considering that as one of the possibilities.'

Wayne and Coleeen are said to be 'extremely disappointed' by the £2,000 total.

Well - if Wayne and Colleen are that disappointed why don't they donate all the money they got from OK magazine for their wedding themselves?? Like you said - they are not short of a bob or two, they both earn millions, Colleen's sister uses the hospice - so why not show how generous Colleen is to her own sister???I tell you why, because rich people like these 2 (and the whole of MP's) are too selfish to care and too rich to give a single penny of their fortune away!!! But you know what - even the Bible says "It's easier for a camel to pass thru the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter heaven" so there you are - you have been warned Colleen.
