Jade Goody has been left shocked after she woke up to find that a woman wielding a hammer had snuck into her hospital room.

The cancer-stricken reality TV star screamed out in terror when she woke to find a woman leaning over her 'chanting and praying.'

It is thought that the woman crept into the room while Jade's husband, Jack Tweed had popped out to get a cup of tea at around 3pm on Sunday.

'Jade was very, very frightened and she screamed out,' said her publicist Max Clifford. 'This woman was inside her room, and Jade told me she was chanting and praying.

'She was on her own for about ten minutes while Jack went downstairs for a cup of tea and that's when she got in.

'As soon as Jade screamed, a nurse came and the woman ran away, but security caught her.

'Jade has told me how scared she was and it had made her really want to go home.

'She had gone back to hospital for a few days to relieve her pain but after this I'm not sure if she'll stay. This is the last thing Jade needs at the moment. It was terrifying for her.'

The police were called to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London and have confirmed that the woman was arrested for possessing an offensive weapon.

Jade, who has been given only weeks to live, was supposed to be resting after the emotional christening of her and her two sons, Bobby, five, and Freddie, four.

Poor girl. She needs to be left alone now. One thought I have seen no where any documentation of any of her BB housemates commenting on or visiting her since she became ill.

I have cancer, I lost my job, my identity my whole purpose. Pay a visit to your local Hospice, no I wish no one harm but experience how the other half exist the one's not receiving 'celebrity funding'
