Cheryl Cole on Comic Relief climb

Cheryl Cole is preparing for a showdown with husband Ashley, after flying back from a charity trek in Tanzania.

The Girls Aloud singer has just climbed Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief, while her husband was arrested outside a London nightclub for being drunk and disorderly last week.

Cheryl, 25, is said to be ‘shattered’ after the climb and burst into tears after being told of Ashley’s arrest.

An expedition member told the Daily Mail, ‘She was very worried – really low.’

The X Factor judge is believed to have asked her assistants to send her newspaper headlines about the arrest last Thursday.

Ashley was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly following a row with police outside the Collection Club in West London early on Thursday morning.

He was fined £80 for the incident and spent the night in a police cell.

But Cheryl may be more concerned about the allegations that Ashley spent the night chatting to a beautiful blonde.

He has threatened legal action against The Sun newspaper if it prints pictures of him chatting to the mystery woman in a blue minidress.

He claims the pair were having an ‘intellectual conversation’, but his minders seized a camera after the pair were snapped chatting. Ashley is then said to have become abusive when he was caught leaving the club.

Since the incident Cole stated: 'I felt I was being harassed by paparazzi and while complaining to the police about this at the scene they did warn me to calm down, a warning that I regrettably did not heed.

'I fully appreciate that whatever frustrations I may have had with others that it was completely inappropriate to vent those in conversations with police.'

Last year, the celebrity couple almost separated over rumours that he cheated with a blonde hairdresser.

Cheryl reportedly put Ashley under a ‘no clubbing’ ban while she was away on her charity trek in a bid to avoid a similar incident.

Whatever they talk about at their first meeting, we wish we were a fly on the wall!
