Jade cancels sons' christening

Jade Goody arriving at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital

Jade Goody has cancelled the christening planned for her two sons, after becoming too ill to attend.

Jade was rushed to hospital earlier this week for emergency surgery, to releive pain caused by her cancer. She is currently recovering, although her condition has been rapidly deteriorating, according to sources.

Prior to the surgery she spoke of her desire for the christening to take place. A source revealed to The Sun, 'Jade genuinely wants to be baptised before she dies. She is still hoping this can be done. But time is running out for her.'

Her spokesman, Max Clifford, confirmed that the christening would no longer be going ahead, telling the press, 'If people go and see her it's literally a case of her opening her eyes, saying, "Hi, how are you" and going back to sleep.

'It's a result of the medication she's on. So of course in those circumstances the christening can't go ahead.'

It is now believed that Jade may be baptised in the hospital; her last wish was to be christened alongside her two sons, Bobby, five, and Freddy, four.

The christening was tied in with Jade's wedding deal with OK!, which published her wedding pics, and was planning on also publishing shots of the christening.

Jade is now reportedly summoning her closest friends and family and starting to say her goodbyes.

Clifford added, 'We're hoping and praying that Jade pulls through, but the fact of the matter is that she now only has a short time to live.'

I pray that Jade goes in Peace. I hope she is baptised...it doesn't matter if she is aware it is happening : she would be aware at the deepest level of her self.
It would be sad if her sons were never baptised, though, and I think it would have great meaning for them if it happened at the same time as their mother was, even if she were in extremis.
