Ashley Cole arrested

Ashley Cole was arrested last night, following a drunken confrontation with police in the early hours of the morning.

The Daily Mail reports that the 28-year-old was approached by police after spending an evening at Collection nightclub on Brompton Road, South Kensington. He was detained following a foul-mouthed rant at the officers, and kept in custody for three hours.

The football star eventually was allowed to leave, after paying a £80 fixed fine for drunk and disorderly behaviour.

Speaking to the Mail, a Scotland Yard spokesman confirmed, 'At about 2.15am today, a man was arrested in Brompton Road, South Kensington, on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly and taken to a central London police station where he was later issued with a fixed penalty notice for being drunk and disorderly and released at 5.37am.'

Cole's wife, Girl's Aloud star Cheryl, is currently climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of Comic Relief.

While the cat's away, the mouse has obviously been playing!

This man is an idiot, an embarrassment and does not deserve the status he has. Think the lovely Cheryl should ditch him and find herself someone so much better....

It's about time that this overpaid, prima-donna was punished by the FA. He, and similar other overpaid idiots, are supposedly role models and what message are they giving their fans! They should be suspended from their teams and especially from our national team, without pay! I'm sure if this idea was put to the general puplic they would agree.

This could be the final curtain call for him. Anyone catch Cheryl live on Radio 1 this morning? She said HI to everyone who knew her and Girls Aloud fans- no mention of Ashley- bit of a contrast to Kimberly, who listed her man first!!!
