Reese Witherspoon: 'Divorce was humiliating'

Reese Witherspoon has finally opened up about her 'humiliating' divorce – and the new love of her life: Jake Gyllenhaal.

The gorgeous Oscar-winning actress comes across as decidedly down-to-earth as she revealed the pain of her divorce from Ryan Phillippe, her love for Jake – and for eating cookies!

Speaking about her divorce to an American magazine, she said it was: 'Very humiliating and very isolating... But, by the way, if it's not painful, maybe it wasn't the right decision to marry to begin with. Those are the appropriate emotions.

'When people get in your face and say, "This will pass", you think, "Are they crazy? I'm never gonna feel any better than I feel right this minute and nothing's ever gonna make sense again."

'And I still have moments where I'm like, "Nothing's ever gonna make sense again."'

The actress, who had her first child Ava at 22, also said she found being a young mum tough.

'When I first had Ava, I couldn't afford [help]. And it was so hard. I was out in Los Angeles, living [away from my family]. I really didn't have any friends. And I had a baby. No one else who was 22 had a baby. I couldn't go out.'

But she's now happy with the ever-so-good-looking actor Jake Gyllenhaal. 'He's fabulous,' she smiled. 'He really is a fantastic guy.'

The Walk the Line star also revealed that Jake is not the only love in her life – cookies get a fair share of her attention, too!

'I'm made of cookies after the holidays,' she laughs. 'Everything inside me is made of sugar and flour and a little red wine - a lot of red wine.'

What? A celebrity who's not diet-obssessed? So very refreshing, so very Reese!
