Cate Blanchett nabs Sienna Miller's role

Cate Blanchett will replace Sienna Miller as Maid Marian in the new Robin Hood movie.

Sienna Miller was originally lined up to star in the epic movie but was reportedly ditched for being too young and too slim (we wish we had that problem!).

Instead, Cate Blanchett will star alongside Russell Crowe, who is playing Robin Hood in the Ridley Scott-directed film.

'They are both highly accomplished dramatic actors who are taken seriously playing rich characters in period pieces, but each has the ability to show you fun,' said Brian Grazer, the film's producer.

The film, which was originally going to be called Nottingham, will begin production in the UK in early April.
