Freida Pinto lands Woody Allen movie role

She’s already hit the big time, but hot on the success of Slumdog Millionaire, Freida Pinto has been snapped up by one of Hollywood’s most prestigious directors, Woody Allen.

The stunning actress revealed her latest plans to star in Allen's next project in a U.S interview on news programme Today and the now global star put her success down to director Danny Boyle for giving her the break she needed.

‘Yes, it’s up (begins) in July. So thank you, Danny Boyle, for helping me take off,’ she told the show.

With possible co-stars including heavyweight Anthony Hopkins and Oscar nominee Josh Brolin, could Freida be knocking Allen’s other muse, Scarlett Johansson, off the top spot?
