Jade Goody wedding sparks huge bidding war
Tragic Jade Goody’s upcoming ‘dream wedding’ has sparked a broadcasting bidding war that may reach £1.5 million.
Max Clifford, the cancer-stricken star’s publicist, said the broadcast and magazine rights auction would be decided ‘within the next 24 hours’.
He told the Guardian that the wedding – taking place this Sunday - between Jade and her fiancé Jack Tweed, would ‘almost certainly be filmed’, but that the broadcaster had not yet been decided.
He said: ‘There will be TV there and we have had a lot of interest in the TV rights so we are currently deciding what to do.
The decision, he added, will ultimately be made by Jade, who was last week told that her cervical cancer – diagnosed in August 2008 – has now spread and become terminal.
The 27-year-old reportedly giggled with glee when she tried on her dream wedding dress yesterday in hospital.
The star ‘brightened up’ as she received the £3,500 Manuel Mota-designed gown – a gift from Harrods owner Mohamed Al Fayed.
Jack Tweed opened up in a recent interview about how they are coping with the illness.
He told how he received the news while he was in jail for assault: ‘When I first heard she had cancer, I couldn’t believe it. I sat there in shock.
‘Jade was in India and it broke my heart because she was all on her own. I just wanted to fly out so I could be with her.’
He also told how delighted she was when he asked her to marry him. ‘She seemed really happy,’ he said. ‘For a moment, we forgot about her pain.’
But Tweed admitted that she is very frightened.
‘She thinks of others before thinking about herself, but you can tell in her eyes she is so scared,’ he told Hello! magazine.
Now he plans to make her final wish come true: ‘All Jade’s ever wanted is a big white wedding in a big church.’
The couple are marrying on Sunday at Down Hall, a country house hotel in Hertfordshire, not far from her Essex home.

If the money means that she can secure her childrens' futures, it is understandable; apart from that I am tired of this constantly being in the news...

Im so saddened that this is happening to Jade as she is a lovely person. This awful news about Jade im sure has prompted alot of women out there to have a regular smear test, myself been one of them. Thanks to Jade been in the public eye this may have helped save so many others. I wish Jade all the best for her big. Love and best wishes to all of Jades family xx

Please please no more about Jade!!! Sick to death of this circus!!Haven't her boys got a real father to provide for them?? And what about Jack Tweed - won't he inherit the money, or at least half, as the husband??And wasn't she ever married to the boys' father??? What a merry-go-round - I don't read OK magazines,I never watch Big Brother - and I don't shop at Harrod's - can't afford the prices!!! So I will definitely not be watching on Sunday, and I don't think the media should keep reporting this as news, it's sad, but there are plenty more people worthy of our sympathy - after all, what has Jade ever been famous for??? Remember the Shelpa episode, so why glorify her now?? She is famous for being non-famous,so what am I missing here???

I think that the Shelpa episode was taken out of context far to much as the mention from Jackson referring to Jades mum as white trailer trash was just brushed under the carpet at that time... is that because the Jacksons seem to be untouchable. Very un far to be mentioning what happened in the past, everyone makes mistakes and we dont always think before we speak. I really hope she has a great day on Sunday and wish her all the best. xx Im sure Jade will not give up without a fight. xxx

To all the people that have slated the media for reporting jades illness as a circus and un-newsworthey they should realise that she is someones mother and daughter and deserves our sympathy as do her family and friends at this dreadful time. Keep smiling Jade were all behind you! keep making money for those beautiful precious boys of yours. God Bless you all.

My word we live in a world full of twisted people... I cannot believe the two bitter people above that have to sound so negative at such a tragedy of a young mother of two...who not by choice is about to have her life stolen away...DO NOT WATCH THE NEWS IF YOU CANT DEAL WITH IT!
More importantly JADE you are a STAR in my eyes...do your thing GIRL...all for your beautiful children... as a mother my heart goes out to you and your family. Enjoy your FAIRYTALE WEDDING YOU CERTAINLY DESERVE IT...you also look great in your photos without hair to say you are very ill...enjoy it darling...GOOD LUCK..xxx
