Rihanna: Dad and Jay-Z speak out

Rihanna’s dad has revealed his daughter is ‘doing OK’ after her boyfriend, Chris Brown, allegedly assaulted her last week.

Her mentor, Jay-Z has also asked people to ‘imagine it was your mum or sister’, before commenting on the situation.

Rihanna's dad Fendy said: ‘She’s doing OK.

‘She has support from both sides of the family, and I think she’ll come out and represent women and be a heroine. In the end, she’ll speak out.’

Jay-Z, meanwhile, said: ‘You have to have compassion for others. Just imagine it being your sister or mum and then think about how we should talk about that.

‘I just think we should all support her. She's going through a tough time. You have to realise she's a young girl, as well. She's very young.’

Asked if he’d seen the Umbrella star, he said: ‘I don't want to go into it.’

Chris Brown finally spoke out about the situation yesterday, saying he was ‘sorry and saddened’ about the whole affair.

On a lighter note, Jay-Z and his superstar wife Beyoncé attended the Boys and Girls Club bash on Valentine’s Day – but the kid-filled event didn’t necessarily spark a burning desire to have a brood of their own.

‘There was a lot of children in there,’ he said, laughing. ‘I don't know if you've been around a lot of children, but it doesn't really give you the itch. I actually ran outta there.’
