Lily Allen looks set to become another Brit taking the US by storm this weekend – with her new album looking likely to bag a Stateside No.1.

The star is on a roll, and could be heading for a No.1 double-whammy, with her album It’s Not Me, It’s You, looking set to top the charts both in the UK and the US.

Lily will be the latest in a string of Brit exports to garner the notoriously hard-to-get American acclaim, with Coldplay, Adele, Radiohead, Duffy and Robert Plant winning big at their Grammy Awards bash last week.

The Fear star is whipping up a promotional frenzy across the pond in a bid to take over Robert Plant’s Raising Sand in the race to the top spot.

Wonder if she'll pull out her steamy Little Bo Peep outfit again?

She’s even taken to begging on her MySpace page, saying: ‘I’ve never had a No.1 album in England, never mind the US, and all of this is a bit crazy. I could well be up for No.1 here, which makes me want to cry a bit.

‘I’ve never begged you to buy from me, ever, but I am now.

‘This will be the only time ever in my life that this could happen for me.

‘Help me get to No.1, go to iTunes and download the album — you’re the only hope I’ve got, guys. I’ll love you forever.

At least she’s honest!
