Sex and the City sequel confirmed!

Sex and the City world premiere

It's the news that we've all been waiting for – Sex and the City, the sequel, has been confirmed!

Following months of speculation, a spokesperson for New Line Cinema has confirmed that a sequel to last year's box office hit is in the works, and will reach cinema screens in summer 2010.

Most importantly, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis and the film's writer-director Michael Patrick King are all back on board for part two.

King commented yesterday, 'I'm very excited to work with these amazing actresses again, and would love to give everyone more information about the sequel… but I'm busy with my Sex life.'

Sequel rumours have been rife for months, after Cattrall answered yes when asked if it would happen during a London press conference.

She added at the time, 'The movie was so much fun to do and be part of again. I hope we're going to do it again.'

So now the speculation starts on a plot! With Carrie married to Big, Miranda back in the arms of Steve, Charlotte in domestic bliss and Samantha single once again, what could be in store for our favourite Manhattan quartet?
