Christian Bale's mum has defended her son over his expletive-ridden attack on a crew member on the set of Terminator Salvation.

Jenny Bale, 61, said it was 'upsetting' to hear the rant had become an internet hit, justifying his behaviour by saying he is a perfectionist.

The outburst occurred last year a few days before the actor was arrested for allegedly assaulting Jenny and his sister in London.

Although the outburst may go some way to the public understanding the incident at the Dorchester Hotel last year, the Welshman's mum said that she did understand why he got so angry this time round, although he may have been a little too 'fierce'.

'It sounds as if a lighting engineer got in the shot so I can understand his anger but not the length of the tirade,' Jenny said.

Bale's abusive rant at director of photography Shane Hurlbut, apparently contained 35 f-words.

It was caught on tape and remixed into a dance song by DJ Revolucian, which has now become an internet smash.

The film's assistant editor Bruce Franklin defended Bale, saying that it was just a 'moment' that passed, and that Bale was otherwise a consummate professional throughout the shoot.

First of all all my support to Christian , I'm a very deep fan of him and admire him since years,for me the best actor of all the time. It's funny and ironic that his mother now is defending his son. Just one thing I have to say: You should had thought twice before you meant the "assault" last summer, because it is deeply affecting to Christian now.Everybody is relating both matters now trying to support their accusations against your son.

Some people are just so 'up themselves' their heads get so big they explode! He needs taking down a peg or two, how about no-one employs him for a couple of years for a start.

Who does Christian Bale think he is talking to another person like that? Just because he is a Hollywood actor, that does not give him the right to speak to anyone in that manner. What I dont understand is why no one on set put him back in his place. If that was anyone else in a work place they would have got the sack for behaving in that way. He is the unprofessional one not the director of photography.
