Katie Holmes sizzles senorita-style at Brazilian premiere

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise returned to the red carpet last night for the Brazilian premiere of Valkyrie, and it sure looked like Katie was getting into the Latino spirit.

After a few days off to enjoy the sun and sand in Rio de Janeiro, Hollywood's hardest-working couple were back doing what they do best – working the red carpet.

Katie sizzled in a heavily sequined vintage haute couture Christian Lacroix gown, which she teamed with understated strappy Rene Caovilla shoes.

Her dramatic look was topped off with lashings of ruby red lippy, smoky eyes and how shall we say this? A rather unusual hair piece.

The star's dark locks were slicked back and held in place by an odd accessory, which we think was meant to look like her own tresses but unfortunately was a few shades too dark.

Strange hair accessory aside, Katie looked radiant and relaxed after her well-earned Brazilian break.

The star of the film, Tom Cruise, also seemed to have recovered after embarrassing himself in front of Brazilian reporters at a press conference earlier in the day.

The actor unwittingly demonstrated his lack of knowledge about the differences between the Latin American countries, when he thanked one reporter in Spanish, even though Brazilians speak Portuguese, and told another that he had enjoyed the tango, which is the traditional dance of Argentina.

Don't worry Tom, it could happen to anyone!
