Church's X Factor bid halted by motherhood

Charlotte Church has revealed she considered joining the X Factor judge line-up – but the role wouldn't fit in with her busy life as a mum.

The Welsh warbler, who recently gave birth to her and Gavin Henson's second baby, son Dexter, says doing the show would have meant splitting up her family of four (they also have one-year-old daughter Ruby).

'We love that show and I do absolutely love the idea of doing something like that, but in reality I don't know how it would work,' she told OK! magazine.

'I'd really get involved, but it wouldn't work with my life now because the kids will come everywhere with me and if I was based in London, that's taking them away from their dad.'

Church also laughed off her old feud with X Factor judge Cheryl Cole, and praised her performance on the show.

'I thought she was really good. She was ballsy and stood up to the others, which I liked,' she said, adding: 'Do you know what, I've not met her once! It would probably be a bit strained because I've said some stuff about her and she's said some stuff about me.
