How to get into ...

Olivia Newton-John's partner faked death

By Ruth Doherty  on Wednesday 28 January 2009

Olivia Newton-John's boyfriend disappeared at sea in 2005 and was presumed dead.

Not so, says a private investigator hired by Dateline NBC.

Former cameraman Patrick McDermott vanished and faked his own death to escape debts and allow his son to pick up a $100,000 life insurance policy, says investigator Philip Klein.

Newton-John was left devastated when McDermott disappeared and was presumed dead, but did eventually move on and, in the summer of 2008, she married natural health businessman John Easterling.

But Klein revealed that Olivia still checks up on the McDermott case progress, regularly logging on to the website for updates.

McDermott has reportedly been sighted up to 20 times along the Mexican and South American coastline.

Good luck to them both. Where ever he is he is not with Olivia and she's getting on with her life very well.

She is better off without him, nothing but a cheap crook.

she can do much better and has obviously moved on . why is the past being dragged up , this will only remind her of a past and forgotten life. Well done ONJ

$100,000 was enough to be without a son and a woman who loved him?
