Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie went for matching looks at last night's Berlin premiere of the The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, each donning sharp suits.

Like a sartorial Ying Yang, the couple were perfectly co-ordinated, with him all in black, and her resplendent in white.

Adding a touch of feminity to her tailoring, Angelina softened the lines of her winter-white Akris ensemble, with a draped top and an uncharacteristic updo.

While the Changeling actress generally sticks to loose locks or neat, slicked back styles, she instead chose a bizarre half-up, half-down side-swept bun, which she balanced with a single bejewelled feather drop earring.

As for her beau, he wrapped up on the red carpet, adding a chunky black scarf to his dapper Tom Ford suit.

Although away from the US, the week's historical events were clearly in the thoughts of the actor, who hailed Barack Obama's inauguration as 'a new era'.

He told reporters, 'It's a new era for us - it reconfirms the original ideals of America. We're very excited about what the future holds. You see people look invigorated at home rather than the cynicism for the last 10 years.'
