Leona Lewis set for Timberlake duet

By Ruth Doherty  on Monday 12 January 2009

Leona Lewis

Leona Lewis is one lucky lady: not only has she gone from Hackney hottie to global superstar overnight, she’s now set to record a love duet with Justin Timberlake.

The singers will join together to breathe life back in to the Dolly Parton-penned I Will Always Love You – the song that plagued the charts in the 90s after Whitney Houston belted it out in hit movie, The Bodyguard.

A source told The Sun: ‘They will record the track in the next few months and are just waiting for a period when they’re both free to go into the studio.

Leona and Justin are huge fans of each other’s music and are raring to go.’

The duet will coincide with the making of Leona's second album, which she's set to record with super-producer Timbaland.

One album under her belt that sold 4.3 million, another on the way with don’t-come-much-hotter music moguls, and a duet with Trousersnake – we’re not jealous, honestly!

It seems like all Leona Lewis sings are covers. She has a nice voice, but it's not right for her to build an entire career on other people's songs. Supposedly she can write music...why nothing original yet??? I never thought I'd say this, but Leona Lewis is getting dangerously close to becoming a karaoke artist!!!
