Sienna Miller loses film role amid claims Russell Crowe too 'fat'

Marie Claire Celebrity News: Sienna Miller

Sienna Miller has been dropped from her latest film role amid concerns that she would make her co-star and love interest, Russell Crowe, look ‘fat’.

Yes, you read it right, according to the U.S. rumour mill, Sienna’s role as Maid Marian in the forthcoming £110million Robin Hood remake, Nottingham, is now up for grabs again after movie insiders revealed the lithe 26-year-old would show up an ailing Crowe, who has failed to shed the pounds from his previous movie role in Body of Evidence.

The New York Post reports that Hollywood producers are now on the hunt for ‘an older, plumper actress to play the role so [Crowe] doesn’t look like a paunchy grandpa. Someone in her late 30s or early 40s’.

‘It is a mess,’ one insider told the Post. ‘Russell never lost the weight he put on for Body of Evidence and so the love scenes between him and Sienna would have been laughable. He’s so old and fat and she’s so young and gorgeous. It’s just… gross.’

Ouch, that’s a far cry from the oodles of female fans who gazed at Crowe’s torso in swoon-tastic Gladiator.

The news will come as a big blow to Miller, who is having a rather unlucky run of movie flops, after she was dropped in November from Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes – apparently after her ex, Jude Law, signed on to play Dr Watson.

Here's a thought why not get rid of the obviously past it star and replace him with a young hot actor - it's ridiculous! I don't think it's all about how young and gorgeous you are but surely he should be able to get ready for the part in time being in the business for so long! I feel sorry for Sienna she should be given a chance!

I don't think Sienna was right for the role anyway. But then I don't think Crowe is either. And why should Sienna have been punished when it was Crowe who failed to lose the pounds,

This is obvously spin from Sienna Miller's PR. She got canned because of her unsavoury reputation as a party girl and home-wrecker, not because she is too "young and gorgeous" (what a joke) for Russell Crowe. I don't like him but he is an A-list star while she is a dirtbag of a nobody. Such nasty comments from her PR can only hurt her more.

Sienna Miller has been given many chances but she has continually ignored warnings and pushed her partying and affairs in the tabloids she only has herself to blame.

Russell has put on weight for another movie and from the last photo's I have seen he has lost a lot. This is Miller's PRs who are saving face, it is never Miss Miller's fault. Maybe if she did not run around with married men all this would not happen.

Miller was let go from the film as she has become a liability. Her people are trying to put the blame on Crowe via gossip columns. Crowe denies any involvement.

I've seen very recent photos of him and he looks trim and fit.

This was a golden opportunity for Miller who a is a second-rate actress at best. Actors lose weight for roles all the time and Crowe will lose it too! He is still a good looking man and a wonderful actor! I think Sir Ridley and Crowe didn't want Miller and all her baggage(tabloid trash and nude pics) upsetting their apple cart, along with public outcry at her antics. They need a real actress, a professional like Rachel McAdams who incidentally got the last role Miller coveted in Sherlock Holmes. Karma!

Saw a picture of Crowe taken at the australia day celebrations yesterday.....he looked fine to me. Obviously he has lost the weight now (and the awful poney tail as well)....So I suspect there were other reasons for Miller's departure.
