Tom Cruise is in talks with the BBC to appear on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross when the disgraced presenter returns from his three-month suspension.

Ross’s popular chat show will return on 23 January after he was suspended for 12 weeks after causing offence to actor Andrew Sachs on Russell Brand’s radio show.

And Tom will make a great comeback guest. The A-list star will be in London to promote his new film, Valkyrie, in which he stars as a Colonel involved in a plot to assassinate Hitler.

Stephen Fry and comedian Lee Evans have already been confirmed, with Franz Ferdinand taking to the stage to perform.

Just one word of advice, Jonathan: get those sofas reinforced!
