Brad: I didn't cheat on Jen

Brad Pitt has finally spoken out about the beginning of his relationship with Angelina Jolie, insisting that he did not cheat on Jennifer Aniston.

Despite rumours of an affair, further fuelled by Ange revealing that they 'fell in love' whilst filming Mr and Mrs Smith, Brad has consistently remained tight-lipped on the matter – until now.

'What people don't understand is that we filmed [Mr & Mrs Smith] for a year,' he says. 'We were still filming after Jen and I split up. Even then it doesn't mean that there was some kind of dastardly affair. There wasn't. I'm very proud of the way that it was handled. It was respectful.'

And even though his ex-wife dubbed Ange's earlier comments as 'uncool,' Brad insists he and Jen are still close.

'Listen, man, Jen is a sweetheart,' he maintains.

'I think she got dragged into that one, and then there's a second round to all of that Angie versus Jen. It's so created.

'We still check in with each other. She was a big part of my life, and me hers. I don't see how there cannot be [that]. That's life, man. That's life.'

Brad also explained the reasons behind those intimate breastfeeding pictures of Angelina he shot earlier in the year.

'We have fun working together; these things bring you closer,' he told W magazine.

'And let me tell you, it's really sexy to see your loved one through the lens. I went much further ... I didn't show those.'
