Bride Wars NY premiere

Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson seemed to have taken the theme of their new movie, Bride Wars, to heart while dressing for its New York premiere last night.

Perhaps taking the matrimonial flick as their style inspiration, Hathaway appeared to play the groom to Hudson's bride, donning a sharp black androgynous suit, and wearing her hair slicked back from her face.

Demure in her tux, the Devil Wears Prada star at least upped the glam factor by adding a pair of metallic Christian Louboutin platforms.

Complimenting the film's theme, Hudson was the bride of the red carpet in a dramatic Oscar de la Renta dress, which featured a figure hugging bodice, voluminous fishtail and geometric monochrome print.

Softening the sharp lines of her gown, she added the perfect finishing touch - tousled hair and smudged smoky eyes.

Bride Wars opens at cinemas this Friday.
