Sigourney Weaver Alien return?

She was one of the first female action superstars, and Sigourney Weaver says she’s ready to return for a fifth Alien film  - despite approaching 60.

The all-action heroine shot to fame in 1979 as Lt. Ellen Ripley in cult movie Alien.

Then came sequel Aliens seven years later, Aliens 3 in 1992 - for which Sigourney famously shaved her head - and Alien: Resurrection in 1997.

And, despite the death of her character, Sigourney, 59, admitted she has been talking to director Ridley Scott about reprising her role as a mature woman.

She said: ‘I would definitely do another Alien film if I had a director like Ridley Scott and we had a good idea.

‘Ridley is enthusiastic about it. If it happened, I would be happy.’

She continued: ‘I have this New York attitude to life. I want it now – or yesterday.

‘I am trying to be more mellow with age but it is hard to slow down. I have always liked working hard and being involved in a lot of different projects.’

And two-time Oscar-nominee Sigourney says age really isn’t putting her off stepping into Ridley’s shoes once again.

She insists: It really didn’t bother me being 50 and I don’t think it will at 60 either. I really feel good every time I start a new decade.

‘I think: “There could be another ten years ahead and I wonder what they will bring?” The only thing that does bother me is how quickly time passes; the years are racing by.’

She added: ‘I always think it’s important to keep going, at whatever age you are, at something which interests you.’
