Jen & John on rocks (again)?

Marie Claire Celebrity News: Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston had a great Christmas present – trouncing ex-hubby Brad Pitt at the box office – but, it seems, her love life may not be so peachy.

Rumours have surfaced again that her on-off relationship with singer John Mayer may be, well, off again.

The pair started dating in summer, but split after a couple of months, only to reunite in November. But the fact they spent Christmas apart has prompted speculation they may be on the rocks again.

After a week in New York spending time with Mayer and promoting her new movie, Marley & Me, Aniston returned to LA on 20 December, leaving John in the Big Apple.

Mayer spent Christmas there with his family, before heading to the West Coast with his brothers Carl and Ben on Boxing Day.

The New York Post got a little bah humbug about it, and suggested Aniston utilised her relationship with Mayer to promote her movie to best effect.

The Post’s Page Six column said: ‘Jennifer Aniston is celebrating her box-office pummelling of ex-hubby Brad Pitt - but she's doing it without her boy toy by her side.

'Aniston toted Mayer around through all her promotional gigs to deter interviewers from focusing on her single status.’

After spending Christmas Eve dining with best friend Courteney Cox, husband David Arquette, and their daughter Coco, Jen received a fabulous Christmas gift when, the next day, her new movie opened to record takings.

But just because Mayer wasn’t there that morning to give her a celebratory kiss, doesn’t necessarily mean the pair are splitting.

Call us old romantics, but we’d like to think there’s more to it than a money-making mission.

Apparently this is cool, so my daughter tells me, she spent xmas with us, family, and her live-in boyfriend with his. Its no biggie nowadays - so she tells me - and they're certainly in love and secure. If there's no kids involved, I suppose it's OK - and they have the rest of the year...

They are in Cabo together right now so I doubt they are broken up. they looked pretty happy about an hour ago, walking on the beach and kissing. Doesn't look like a break up to me.

I think this is it.. but alot of people figured this is coming! If she used him for publicity she has no class!
