Brad & Jen box office records
By Ruth Doherty on Monday 29 December 2008
Brad Pitt may be ahead of his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston in the love stakes, but Jen got her own back this festive season – by beating her former beau at the box office.
Both actors were vying for the top movie spot at Christmas, but it was Jen who pipped Pitt to the post with her feel-good comedy Marley & Me, a tale about a young family and their mischievous dog, in which she stars alongside Owen Wilson.
Aniston pulled in a record-breaking $14.8 million at the box office - the highest grossing total ever for a movie opening at Christmas.
But although Brad Pitt’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button – about a man ageing in reverse – didn’t quite match up to Jen’s whopping opening numbers, his new movie still set the record for the second-highest Christmas opening of all time with $11.8 million.
That will make the bitter pill a lot harder to swallow!

Your title should be "Jen and Brad.." and not the other way around. Why does the man come first?

I think it's great her movie did better. Her and Owen's movie is amazing. I absolutely adored it and it was so beautifully done. I laughed, I cried, and I felt there relationship was so real I didn't want the movie to end. I've never seen a movie where I felt that way afterwards.
