How to get into ...

Hallelujah set to be Xmas No.1, and 2!

Could X Factor winner Alexandra lose out on the coveted Christmas number one spot to another version of the same song?

The late Jeff Buckley covered Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah back in 1994, and now demand for this earlier version of the track is rapidly growing.

Fuelled by anti-X Factor groups on the internet, a campaign has been started to get Buckley's version to the festive top spot.

Buckley's version is now number three in the mid-week charts, although Alexandra's is firmly still holding its place at the top, after becoming the fastest-selling download single ever in Europe.

Beating previous record holder, and X Factor winner Leona Lewis, 149,548 copies of the debut single had been downloaded by Monday lunchtime.

A spokesman for Alexandra described the star as 'overwhelmed' by the sales, and added, 'She can't even take it on, these are incredible figures.'

Even if Buckley's version does not outsell Alexandra's, then it still looks likely to overtake the current number two single, which is Lewis's Run. This would mean that the same track will be at both number one and two in the charts for the first time ever.

For those of you that haven't heard the Jeff Buckley version download it. Its 69p. It's the most beautiful version I have ever heard.

There should be campaigns for Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen, Allison Crowe and John Cale. The song could then hold the top five chart spots!

Heartwarming to read this! Buckley's version is the definitive recording in my humble opinion and this just means that more people will get to hear it :)

I think this is great that Jeff Buckley is in the running for a Xmas number 1! I like Alex's version too. The Best of Jeff Buckley album is out Jan 5th so I'm saving my pennies for that! Let the best cover win!!
