Katie Holmes' ex single again

Katie Holmes' ex, Chris Klein, is single again after splitting from Hollywood starlet Ginnifer Goodwin.

The pair, who had been dating for two years, apparently went their separate ways amicably after deciding the relationship had simply run its course.

'They realised they wanted different things,' a friend told People. 'In the long run, the relationship wasn't going to work.'

Most famous Stateside for her performances in the TV series Big Love, which co-stars Chloe Sevigny, Goodwin will be seen on the big screen next year opposite the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Ben Affleck in the eagerly awaited He's Just Not That Into You.

Klein's next film role, meanwhile, is Street Fighter.
