Lily: The paps ruining my love life

Lily Allen has blamed the paparazzi for her current love life lapse.

The Smile singer says that constant harassment by photographers means she can't even take the dog for a walk, let alone embark on a meaningful relationship.

'I have had a couple of times when I've got to know someone over a few weeks and we've had a really great time at my London apartment, just watching TV and sh*gging,' the 23-year-old told The Observer Music Monthly magazine.

'And then I get paranoid because I get like, 'I don't want to leave the house with you because I don't want us to be photographed together and for us to suddenly have to justify our relationship, when we don't know what it is yet'.'

The mouthy pop star, who was previously linked to one half of the Chemical Brothers, Ed Simons, feels she can only date fellow celebrities.

'If I meet someone who is not part of the showbiz industry, I think, 'Should I sleep with this person?'

'Are they going to walk out of here and be straight on their phone?' 'Or you feel, 'Oh, it's gone naff', because they are secretly enjoying having their photograph taken. I guess that's why people go out with famous people,' she added.

Lily also admits that the media attention can be so suffocating that she often thinks about giving up making music altogether.

'Sometimes I feel like I really have had enough. And I'm not someone who eats, lives and breathes music; I don't love it enough to keep getting all this.'

Not like it'd be a great loss if she gave up "making music". She is after all only famous for one song and being her father's daughter.
