Gossip Girl spin-off

Our favourite all-American soap, Gossip Girl, is about to get its own spin-off show.

According to rumours, the network behind Gossip Girl, CW, reckons the only thing better for building a buzz than Gossip Girl itself would be a show focusing on just one of the impossibly beautiful cast.

There's already a Gossip Girl spin-off book series, The It Girl, which focuses on the character of Jenny Humphrey who, in the novels at least, leaves NYC for boarding school, however, CW plans not to follow suit on TV and instead launch its own new storyline.

'[There's] nothing really tangible yet, but we're talking about it,' CW entertainment president Dawn Ostroff told The Hollywood Reporter. 'If it's the right idea, we'd all embrace it and be enthusiastic.'
