Despite revealing his rippling torso, the super-buff rugby ace and his partner, Erin Boag, failed to do enough to impress the public and found themselves in the bottom two.
A combination of the judges' scores and public votes meant the former England international faced Lisa Snowdon and Brendan Cole in the dreaded dance-off.
Austin and his partner Erin performed a saucy salsa, but it was Lisa and Brendan who wowed the audience and the experts with their Viennese Waltz.
The judges came to a unanimous decision that Lisa should go through to the semi-final, leaving Austin disappointed but grateful for his time on the show.
He said, 'I'd like to say three thank yous, firstly to everyone at Strictly for giving me the chance to be in something so amazing. Secondly, to Erin, she's been such amazing partner, and thirdly and most importantly, to my wife.'
'She has brought up four daughters while I've been away. I have four beautiful daughters and the best woman in the world in my wife,' he added.
Lisa Snowdon, Rachel Stevens and Tom Chambers will now go through to the semi-final next weekend.

It was not right at all! The judges were asked which celebrity they wanted to go through to the semi-final - clearly that should have been Austin Healey and Erin. Austin was consistently good, and it was the first time they had been in the dance - what further indication did they need to show that Austin should be the one to go through?
The show has lost all it's appeal for me now.
